The Lamborghini name is a legend these days. This car producer company was founded by Ferruccio Lamborghini in a small city from Italy called SantÁnta Bolognese. At the beginnings the history the company was opened by Ferruccio to manage tractors fabrication because he was very experienced in this domain.
The company it has change the owner few times from 1963 when the factory was open, until these days. The actual owner of Lamborghini are the Germans from Audi, another automotive producer.
Anyway, Ferrucio Lamborghini creates the company and decides to produce a competitor for the rival Ferrari, owned by another Italian called Enzo Ferrari. This decision makes possible first launches of the models of Lamborghini company the 350GT and 400GT. But the real success of the company comes in 1966 when was launched Miura. This model was a real success car and makes possible the launch of another legend car: Lamborghini Espada.
All the cars launched by Ferruccio Lamborghini in this period of time have bull names. These names are coming from corrida and torreador’s world. Espada model was a success with about 1200 hand made cars was sold by the Italian company.
The next success come in 1974 when it was officially launched Lamborghini Countach. This supercar was very well viewed by the press and the public but financial problems makes Ferruccio to sell a part of the company to American company Chrysler.
In 1994 the company was reselled by the owners (Chrysler) to an investor from Indonesia. This investor decides to launch Diablo, another success for the Lamborghini company. Other financial difficulties do to the resell of the company to the luxury car producer’s Audi.
They decides to rebuild the Lamborghini brand and invests in company. This was a real change in Lambo company mentality, and in short time was launched some incredible supercars. First model after Diablo is called Lamborghini Gallardo. In short period of time the success of this supercar makes possible the launch of the Murcielago model, a V12 car in coupe and roadster version.
After Murgielago, Lamborghini launches the last model of the period, called Reventon. This is a car manufactured in few exemplars with a high price and very difficult to buy.
